A healthy dosage of "why's" will definitley serve any product, any company, or any individual well these days. In an era where nothing and no one is irreplacable, it becomes increasingly important to question "why", and specifically "why me". What add-on values can your presence in a classroom, on a project team, in a corporation, or at the negotiation table contribute to the greater picture? For Asians to live up to their meekness and modesty and other stereotyped virtues they were brough up with, it's only too easy to dodge this million-dollar question and shrink away behind feigned humility.
Arguably, questioning one's (espeically your own) value of being may appear to be offensively presumptuous at best, and dangerously in lack of some major self-confidence at worst. But to sit in on a class of professionals and to hear the almost frightening ease and matter-of-factness in the way they shrug out the 5 or 6 or 7 or 10 years of working experience under their belt and to be actively and constantly conscious of your inexperience, those are the moments when being young does not pay off.
However, to knowingly embrace, or perhaps confront, your greenness, is the first baby steps to successful self-improvement, and only then can values be sowed and reaped. Going under construction on a perpetual and indefinite basis allows present values to be enhanced and non-existent ones to emerge and develop. There might not be one single answer that would suffice in tranquilizing your torrent of why's, but so long as you continue your pursuit of persistent self-improvement, in due time, perhaps you will have added on enough values for your peers and superiors to provide the answer for you.
